Choir Competition

Elder Stoker was asked to judge a choir competition in Adenta Stake. Each ward was instructed to prepare the same hymn arrangement and also choose a couple of other numbers for their performance. When we entered the stake center that Saturday morning, we immediately sensed that this was serious business. The front half of the cultural hall was filled with excited participants and a supportive audience filled the rest of the chairs. It was a very fun event.

Many of the choirs had sewn matching clothing. Some songs were a cappella, others were accompanied.

Every ward was beautifully prepared for the day.  This choir member couldn't stand, so he sat behind his group.

Ghanaians sing with wonderful enthusiasm.  Each choir entered and exited the stage singing.

Many bought matching fabric and designed their own dresses. These ties were made with beads to match the women's dresses!

The four judges were asked to choose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The winners were ecstatic!
